Synthetic diamonds will flood the market. Alternative diamonds are already being made and within the next few years, will be efficiently made for the mass market.

Why we buy diamond engagement rings is because of a 100-year old advertising campaign. For real ! In the early 20th century, the head honchos of the diamond industry put their advertising wiz brains together to figure out how they could make that cheddar. Before they came up with the genius idea to pound the collective conscience of the American male with the idea that diamonds = romantic devotion, a common engagement gift was a sewing thimble. Yes, a sewing thimble. And — surprise! — weddings still happened. Plenty of long, happy marriages started with sewing thimbles, and no one had to subsist on rice and beans for three years trying to save up for them.

Speaking of overpriced… Diamonds are not rare. They are not particularly difficult to find or mine. The people who do mine them, i.e., underprivileged laborers in 3rd world countries, get paid squat to dig them out of the earth in substandard conditions. It takes a skilled professional to cut them well, but that is true of any gem or stone. So why are they so freaking expensive? See above, re: the power of advertising.

Women are collectively attached to the status a ring bestows on them; otherwise more would demand some equal sign of commitment from their husbands. Say, a tattoo. For two. Now there's an idea !

Easter means something different to many people. For me, it meant a new Easter dress and a ribboned bonnet each year, Sunday Easter Services, and wonder. My brothers and sisters, and I awoke to a wonderful Easter Basket at the foot of our beds, a memory etched in my brain, one of wonder and excitement for the day. We emptied our Easter goodies onto our beds, and the preparation for our day began. I always wonder, how my mother did it, and made the day so joyful, with all those kids, at the time, we were a family of eight. 
Donning our Easter attire, we headed out with our Easter Baskets to the glorious Easter Egg Hunt on the green lawn at the church. Joyful sounds of children running and hunting for eggs filled the air, competing to see who could find the most eggs, or the special ones filled with candy.

My children, now with their own children, have created their own Easter traditions. The Easter Basket, and egg hunt having been passed down through the generations, and now, seen through the eyes of each of their children, that same look of wonder that I had.

THE GIFT OF A LOCKET....WITH LOVE.... FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER

I am simply in love with Spirit Lockets, with all the wide-eyed awe of a child, I am enamoured with the charms, dangles, stamps, and slides you can choose to add to your bracelets and lockets. I doubt I know a person alive who wouldn't fall in love with this jewelry, like me you will be in love.

I just HAVE to show you a few of my favorites, some of which my granddaughter has chosen for her birthday present from me, she will be 19 in a few days. When I showed her the lockets, she thought I was the coolest grandmother, ever !

Here is what she choose for her Locket...I am so tempted to add more......just for that added element of surprise, there is nothing quite like the joy in her big brown eyes, when I choose the perfect gift, so although she chose some additions to her Locket, I must add more, to see that happy face light up. 
Well, what do you know ! I went ahead and added more ! I couldn't help myself....Ha ha ha !

Since she was born in March, she chose her birthstone, and added blue charms, and a dangle, her slide is a flat silver. I think she did an amazing job, it will be beautiful, especially with the Swarovski element that circle the silver locket.

Now....here is what I added to give it a little more charm, but still leave room for her to choose more for whatever event or interest is happening in her life. I chose charms that remind me of her.
