A magical wonderland graced Portland, Oregon for the last week. The people who reside in this city are unaccustomed to snow. The city shuts down, schools close, people get a week off from work, you are lucky to see maybe one or two cars on the road, as we do not do well in the snow, unprepared and in a kind of holding place, we bundle up and brave our way to the grocery store for food and household supplies, once that task is complete, we quite literally hole up and wait. There is a quiet solitude, no sound, only the birds feeding in the yard, puffed up to keep warm, undeterred by the icy weather. The deck becomes embossed with little birds tracks as the Juncos scratch away the snow to find seed, poor little birds are ground feeders, working diligently to find their reward. There are 13 different varieties of birds that visit the yard each day, so blessed with their presence each morning, reminding me each day why I live here in this beautiful, cultural city, by a lake in the trees, I find my peace.
I have a quick update on new product arrivals. The Easter Baskets are here, and so adorable. We also have beautiful flowers for mom, something for teens too.
I am jumping ahead a little, I know ! I am just excited to share them with you !
